Have You Ever Wondered About the People Who Do Voice Overs?

I didn’t used to, until more movie stars starting doing them. It was so odd hearing someone’s familiar voice coming out of a cartoon fish, or a lion or something. Sometimes, though, if I didn’t know that someone famous was doing the voice overs, I would not recognize the voices right off. Mostly because they changed them a little bit, so that it wasn’t as if they were speaking so much as it was the character speaking. I think I’d like to do something like that. Most of the people doing this are rarely seen, rarely named, but it’s their voices that carry the movies, or the commercials or whatever. They don’t even have to be movie star pretty or handsome to have their voices become stars! That sounds like my kind of job — though I’m sure it’s far more difficult than it looks. Or, I guess I should say, sounds.

I Should Try Voice Acting

I had heard it was hard to get a good acting job, but its incredibly hard. I thought I was going to be able to avoid the whole cliche of the actor working as a waiter, but here I am. You have to do something to pay the bills right? I wonder if I could at least get some voiceover work. Id love to be part of a cartoon show or something. If you’re good, you can get called into a lot of parts. If you listen closely, you’ll hear a lot of the same voices from one show to the other. I don’t know if its because there aren’t a lot of people doing the work, or there aren’t a lot of people who are good at it. I think I could pull it off though. I’m not saying its easy. In fact, its probably harder than regular acting because you have to emote completely through your voice.
