We make resolutions every year. We even make them even when we don’t think we have. Whether at the back of your thoughts or in writing, we can’t help but do it. For a large proportion of us, new years resolutions means one thing; losing weight and improving our health. If we can just do it this year round, we can go on holiday looking the way we’ve always wanted and fit in the clothes we’ve been waiting to buy.
Despite our detailed planning and our heightened enthusiasm, several weeks into January we are even burnt out, or discouraged by the lack of progress we might be seeing. By the time February has begun, we haven’t been to the gym in a week and we hate the thought of even going back.
See the truth is, plans can fail. They fail for many reasons, much more than just because of your inability to stick to them. Many times we plan to do too much or do the wrong thing and when we fail to see results we lack motivation to continue. But the plan was really never going to work and for a lot of people they know they aren’t going to stick to it. If you are like 99% of the rest of the world, you have a job, a family and a social life to keep in check as well as sticking to looking great. Two hours in the gym every night is not sustainable
So why not try a new approach. Save money by skipping the gym membership and workout at home. Train for just 30 minutes instead of 2 hours and make it a little more enjoyable. So that by the time April comes around, your still as inspired as you were on January the first.
All you need is a mat, piece of carpet or a space on the floor. You don’t need to perform hard, strenuous exercises. Instead you can perform Pilates at home. Pilates has proven to help people lose weight, tone up, increase strength and improve posture all round the world. The best part of it is. With the right video tutorial, performing Pilates at home is much more effective then going to a gym. Why not give it a try, it could be the solution to your new years resolution.
